Introduction

Yo

My name is Matsuoka Rin. I have a girly name but I'm a guy. From this year on I will be studying Physical Education at Shirataiiku and joining the swimteam there. My dorm is Momo Hall.

Some of you might already know my Little sister Gou. I look forward to getting to know everybody!

Nice to see you again too. Yeah, they're my childhood friends so they're kind of obligated to be happy when seeing me.

Are you settling in okay?

It looks like genuine happiness, not just something out of obligation. I have some childhood friends I'd probably make faces at if they showed up here.

Place is a bit bare at the moment but I've got all I need. I could use a tour around town though if you're free.

Yeah. They're pretty good kids. Though I might still make faces XD

I'm not actually back in town until tomorrow. I'm thinking of taking advantage of my last day at home and spending the day at the beach. But I'm happy to give you a tour once I get back.

It's too cold to swim, but at least I can sit there. And it's warmer than in Toyama.

Yes, I've met Hazuki-kun. He's... very exuberant.

Reminds me of somebody else I know. Yeah, it's pretty chilly here. Where exactly is home if you don't mind me asking?

And I'm from Naha in Okinawa. It's winter here too, just... much warmer.

Okinawa? Never been myself but it sounds nice. I'm not a big fan of the cold.

Well, name aside, liking the ocean... apparently our laughs are quite similar, and we both don't like the cold all that much.

I'm looking forward to going back in summer for some proper time spent at the beach and some surfing.

I guess there is nothing wrong with that.

Surfing, never actually tried that but I guess it's safer here with less risk of being shark bait.

Not at all. I definitely don't possess your teeth, that's for sure.

Oh that's right, you were in Australia before. You should try it one day, it's thrilling.

I might give it a go sometime, but I don't know I think I might prefer being in the water.

They seem like they could be very useful.

Well, you end up in the water a lot when you first start. I enjoy swimming as well, you can do it in more places as well.

Or like I'm the love-child of a demented James Bond villain and the tooth-fairy.

I imagine so - but there is a small but important difference between Swimming and falling into the water. Though riding one of those big waves does always look pretty amazing.

Is that why Yamazaki-kun is training to become a police officer?

Do you specialise in a stroke like the rest of your friends do?

No clue. You'll have to ask him that. Maybe he thinks he needs the Training to protect himself from me.

Yes, you do seem like the dangerous type, Matsuoka-kun. Particularly to him.

Are you going to protect him from me, Hirakoba?

It's what I'm most comfortable with. I swim my best times in Free though.

Haha, he might need me to. Maybe if he asks nicely enough, I'll step in.

I enjoy swimming free the most as well.

I'll go easy on him for you then.

We should have a race sometime.

Oh no, don't go easy on him. He doesn't deserve it.

That's hardly fair. I'm quite sure you'll defeat me soundly. I only swim for fun.

Have you ever swam in a relay?

No I haven't. I only really swim by myself and never competitively. Just for fun.
